Dear Wine Guy, What is the best way to serve your wine at the correct temperature for a meal at home? They always seem to be too cold or not cold enough. Please help! Hungry And Thirsty. PDF Print E-mail

Dear HAT, a common problem. A good way to overcome this serious dilemma is to remember the 30 minute rule. If you’re serving white or rose wine put them in the fridge when you get them and take them OUT of the fridge 30 minutes before sitting down to dinner.
If you’re serving red wine, put it IN the fridge 30 minutes before sitting down to dinner. It should be about the right temperature when ready to sit down for dinner.
Bubbly and dessert wine should be served colder. Take out of the fridge just before serving.
Remember though, it’s always better to serve a wine too cold than too warm.
